REFACING

When refacing, these are items to consider:

Cabinet Box Structure: Refacing can be a viable alternative to replacing kitchen cabinetry. It has considerable cost and time saving advantages. However, cabinet boxes must be in good condition and of sound structure in order to be worthy of refacing.

Kitchen layout must be acceptable as is: If significant design changes are needed to improve the function of the kitchen, then new cabinetry may be a better alternative. However, we can add an island or freestanding piece such as a hutch and often alter an existing cabinet to accommodate a new appliance or specific need. Many organizing features such as roll-outs can also be added.

New Appliances: Your current cabinetry is designed around the sizes of the existing appliances. Any new appliances need to be decided upon before measuring for the reface job to ensure proper fit.

New Countertops: Refacing can be done before or after new countertops are installed. We can coordinate the process and provide for water disconnection, removal and disposal of old tops, the templating process, support brackets (if needed) and electrical and plumbing needs.

New Look: Many upgrades such as matching raised panels can be added to bar fronts and cabinet ends. Appliance panels (if your appliances can accept them), custom hoods, crown moldings, light rail and glass doors are also popular options for an entirely new custom look.

Cost: The cost of a reface is typically less than half the cost of new cabinetry. To give an estimate we need only your door and drawer counts and the door selection you like which can be chosen at our showroom. Lead times for ordering materials is two to five weeks depending on our selections. Most kitchens can be completely refaced in one week.

Refacing is a specialized technique for which we are highly qualified and the most experienced in the area. We deliver high quality refacing that utilized solid wood or premium thermo-foil doors that are under warranty by the door manufacturer and us. We do not refinish, nor do we recommend repainting or refinishing existing cabinets as it is not a long-term solution and usually produces substandard results. Our refacing process produces the look of an entirely new kitchen with the minimum of cost and renovation disruption. Contact us for an easy, no obligation quote.
